I have owned the M2 for some time now, and mine has seen some, but not much combat. The fact is, it's just not as logistically practical to carry as other weapons, and it has broken down and had issues too frequently to get used much.

After I had put about 300 rounds through it, the piston casing broke in half. This was due to a slight tolerance variation in the slide design. After applying some JB-Weld and electrical tape, I was able to "reforge" this broken part, and the gun returned to perfect working condidions. For some reason I could not properly calibrate the hop-up on this gun. When I took out the inner barrel, there was some sort of rubber hop-up on the muzzle end, as well as on the chamber end. After removing the front rubber hop-up sleeve (why was it there in the first place?) I was quickly able to adjust the hop up properly. The finish on the wood isn't the greatest, and has worn off significantly, but this can be a good thing, if you want a "worn" look. Actual combat usage has shown the full-auto setting to be tactically useless, as the 17 round mag capacity (the reviewer is right, any more than that will jam the mag), combined with the very high cost of extra mags prevents you from carrying enough ammo for this to be worth it. Like with all too many GBB guns, the M2 will have cycling problems from time to time. These are hard to predict, but can be prevented with proper lubrication.

All in all, the gun is only alright. It has a lot of problems, but all of them have been fixable. It shoots very accurately, but not as hard as I would like (I have watched bb's hit people, but they don't feel it). The high cost of mags, combined with the very low bb capacity are a huge handicap. For all these faults, IT IS STILL A DANG FUN GUN TO SHOOT! It feels good in your hands, looks cool while firing, and it pretty awesome (if useless) on it's full-auto setting.
