Interesting news from SOCOM Gear, looks like they are releasing a new option in the M700 field;

From SOCOM Gear’s website:
Package including:
R700 AIR RIFLE
One magazine
One sniper ghillie camouflage
Features:
SIMULATED RECOIL ACTION
MATTE COATING FINISH
AUTHENTIC RECEIVER FINISH
SNIPING LIGHT TRIGGER
It is interesting to see a rifle come with a pre-made ghille out of the box. Also, interested in seeing how the simulated recoil is. While the powersource isn’t mentioned as to if it is gas or spring, it is likely a spring rifle (the old VSR-10 ‘Realshock!’ comes to mind.

I’ve just put the finishing touches on a technical article about Bioval’s BBBMAX BBs. These are the new transparent BBs that have been getting rave reviews for accuracy and consistency. They’ve also caused quite a stir in the community due to claims that they might be made of glass. Well, I’m hoping to settle that particular issue with this article, where I’ve pulled together and analyzed all the information I could about these BBs. Some of you might be surprised with my conclusions.

I’ve just finished writing my review of the ACM Aimpoint CompM4. I found it to be a excellent looking and feeling replica that performed well. If you need a sight to mount atop a rifle like a SCAR or HK416, I highly recommend this sight.

Ares has a few new products on its ‘Coming Soon’ page. All of these feature a gas blow back action and can run on either Green Gas/Propane or CO2. First up is a replica of the Barret M82A1 .50 Caliber Sniper rifle. The page claims that this replica will be available in Airsoft, Paintball and pellet rifle versions. This is a very interesting choice in my opinion, but if you can make 3 products while re-using most of your parts, it makes sense.

Next up is a replica of the Walter WA2000 bulpup sniper rifle. This gun has been exceedingly hard to come by in airsoft, so let’s hope that Ares it able to bring it more into the mainstream. The WA2000 will be available in both Airsoft and pellet rifle versions.

Finally, not to be left out of the gas blow back M4 party (which currently includes WA, WE, G&P and KJW; did I miss anyone?), Ares is releasing their own GBB M4. It looks similar to the other products currently on the market. Only time will tell if Ares has included any features that will entice people to buy this over their competitors’ products.

The guys over at Airsoftology have just released yet another informative podcast spiked with their own unique sense of humor.
Show Notes:
News
- Adian Minter has a new airsoft book on the horizon, promising “pure Airsoft and Milsim eye candy for your coffee table”. AIRSOFT INFIDELS – The Very Best of Airsoft & Milsim Photography: Book One. No website as of yet but progress can be tracked on Twitter.com via the authors signature “alliedagent”
- WGC shop has the new King Arms 556 HOLO ($413 US) and the VFC PDW’s ($395 US) in stock and ready for shipment. If you’re in the market for a high quality replica, hit them up.
- Our friends at Bioval have let us in on a secret…they are opening THE Marui distributor and service center in the US soon. Once they give us the date and location, you will be the 1st to know. Also, the Bioval BB’s are getting restocked in the US around the 2nd week of April so start checking your retailers. WooHoo, let the soul-stealing resume!
- Big news! Crosman has announced a partnership with some major players in the airsoft industry, including Classic Army. They will be selling the CA sportline model under the Crosman name and they will be offering the Blamo marker BB to all of their outlets (hmmm….) We’re working up some in-depth questions and are interested in seeing what they have to say.
Reviews
- Chris is back in the reviewing seat and he brings us some gems this show. Chris covers the new Classic Army M4 A.B.S. (Blowback) and we give it a 6/10. We also review the tan marine CIRAS replica plate carrier from ebaybanned. Not bad for the price so we give it a 8/10 for the non-geardos and a 4/10 for the geardo crowd (cause it isn’t real). Check out all the review pics and dirty details at Chris’ site.
Tech Tip of the Week
- Chris has wrestled the tech tip segment back from Tim…and thank GOD!!!! This show he covers how to convert your version 2 mechbox into semi-auto only. This is moderate in difficulty so you will want to see the how-to from Chris before you go nuts on it.
