It’s quite common for guns to have highly variable muzzle velocities. Some of the variations are explained by the guns being intended for certain markets where regulations on maximum muzzle velocity vary. On Chinese replicas like this, it could be as simple as the factory finding a new source for springs which are higher rate, or perhaps lower quality control allows a larger variation from spring-to-spring.
I got the Snow Wolf M99 and a little adjustement to whats publised here, out of the box the M99 fires 520 fps on 0.20 gr BB`s ..
